Dutchman's breeches (Pelham Bay Park, Spring)

A member of the poppy family, Dutchman's Breeches are pollinated by the bumble bee. The flowers are known to grow in early spring before the leaves are out in order to absorb light. Part of an exploration with Parks Dept. chief naturalist Mike Feller.
