And other Urban Nature Media moments

NNYN's Urban Nature Media Workshop is preparing the GREEN MOM'S COMPANION, an easy-to-use handbook for anyone interested in going greener. Drawing on the real-life expertise of dozens of mothers nationwide, the book presents simple strategies for making modern life Earth-friendly along with an extensive review of the best green resources online.

Urban Nature's GO WILD IN NEW YORK CITY was reviewed by student teachers enrolled in NYU's Wallerstein Collaborative for Urban Environmental Education. The reactions: From ecstatic to downright abusive.

In September, the first UNMedia Workshop at 800 Fifth Avenue will bring together media professionals to hear the latest reports from journalists and others working to get the word out about the importance of resolving the conflict between the environment and development. Elizabeth Royte, author of Garbage Land, will be reading from her chapter on some very interesting fellows in California who are trying to realize the dream of living with Zero Waste.
